Where Have All the Dinosaurs Gone?!

 

So, one of the things I want to do in here and on my YouTube channel, is discuss topics like this. Hopefully, you will join the discussion in a friendly and thoughtful way, as well. But some of these questions, while often meant as a joke or a gotcha, actually put forth really good questions. 

Well, why don't we ever see dinosaur ghosts?!

As I will say 6000 times, we don't have scientific proof yet that any ghosts exist, so this, as any ghost encounter, goes down to faith and beliefs. And not just your beliefs in the paranormal, but your religious beliefs as well. 

Let's take a look at the question.

1. How do you know we haven't? There may be someone somewhere who believes they saw a dinosaur ghost at some point in time. I haven't personally heard these claims, but I'm sure someone out there truly believes they have had this experience. 
1. Since we haven't proven ghosts exist, we don't know for certain how they work. It could very well be that we can't actually see ghosts. It doesn't mean they aren't there, it just means our eyes cannot perceive them. Therefore, you wouldn't necessarily know if you walked up on a dinosaur ghost, even if it was there.
2. If we can hear them but not see them, how would you know you didn't hear one? 
3. We couldn't communicate with them... they don't speak human languages. 
4. What if they exist on a parallel plain instead of here with us?
2. A lot of people believe in reincarnation. And how that works varies depending on belief systems.
1. Purgatory is a thing in some faiths. Spirits may reincarnate from there.
2. There are a variety of heaven type places, as well. You might stay there forever, or maybe reincarnate from there.
3. Maybe spirits wander the Earth until they are ready to reincarnate or it is their time to. 
4. However you feel it works, if a spirit reincarnates, there would be no ghost left of that person or creature. This could answer a lot of questions about cavemen and other older varieties of people, as well as more recent people who may have wanted to reincarnate faster than older ghosts. 
3. There are a lot of faiths that believe animals don't have souls and therefore there would be no ghost after they die.
1. On a personal level, I don't believe this. I do believe animals have souls. After all, humans are also animals. And if you believe we are creations of god, are animals not also creations of god?
2. Yes, I also believe plants have souls.
3. A lot of faiths believe a person can reincarnate into anything, it doesn't have to be a human. In order to do this, animals, plants, and many other things would need a soul. Reincarnation, in this case, may also be more swift, meaning ghosts wouldn't wander or wouldn't wander for long.
4. Some people believe ghosts wander for different reasons.
1. A ghost may have unfinished business.
2. Maybe the person wasn't ready to go to the afterlife.
3. Maybe wandering the Earth as a ghost is a form of punishment; it could be purgatory itself.
4. For that matter, maybe it is Hell!
5. Would animals be subjected to the same form of judgement as humans? Can an animal go to purgatory? Hell? 
6. Would an animal remain after death because of unfinished business? Pets might. But wild animals may as well. Watching over their young, or maybe their herd. We don't really know. 

As per usual, if you think about it enough, you end up with more questions.
