You're probably here because you investigate, are a fan of watching others investigate, or want to understand why so many people do it. It's all over YouTube and at least was popular on TV for a long time. You can watch investigations, you can listen to people debunk other investigations, listen to commentary on the paranormal... anything you want, really. Some genuine, some not. Some intentionally just there to give you a good scare. And you probably have your own reasons for enjoying it. But why do people investigate the paranormal? Let's talk about it for a minute. These are questions that were left as comments on one of my videos. I will eventually make a video on this topic, but let's discuss them here.  You will hear me say in videos—and, in turn, on this blog—that we haven't proven ghosts exist yet. And we haven't. That's the goal of every paranormal investigator, and thus far, no one has been successful. So, everything put forward about the activity and behavior of ghosts is based on theory. I can answer these questions based on my own opinion. My opinion is not fact... because we haven't proven ghosts exist yet.  As to the first part, this always made me laugh. If you believe you are face to face with a demon, telling it you don't give it permission to follow you is really bizarre. A demon would be an incredibly evil and powerful entity... that doesn't care about your demands. If it is a spirit... if it is a kind spirit, they may listen out of respect.  Let's start with a straight up history of this doll before I give any thoughts on the topic. Origins & Early History (1970s) In 1970 , a student nurse named Donna (or Deirdre ) received a Raggedy Ann doll as a birthday gift. She lived with a friend named Angie . Soon the doll allegedly began moving on its own and writing mysterious messages such as “Help Me” on parchment paper neither woman owned.   Their friend Lou reportedly experienced severe chest pain and mysterious bruises after encountering the doll in their apartment.   A medium claimed the doll housed the spirit of a young girl named Annabelle Higgins, who had died on the land. The nurses reportedly allowed the spirit entry, thinking it harmless.   Ed and Lorraine Warren were called in; they concluded the doll was manipulated by an “inhuman spirit” looking for recognition—and potentially a human host.   So, one of the things I want to do in here and on my YouTube channel, is discuss topics like this. Hopefully, you will join the discussion in a friendly and thoughtful way, as well. But some of these questions, while often meant as a joke or a gotcha, actually put forth really good questions.  Well, why don't we ever see dinosaur ghosts?! As I will say 6000 times, we don't have scientific proof yet that any ghosts exist, so this, as any ghost encounter, goes down to faith and beliefs. And not just your beliefs in the paranormal, but your religious beliefs as well.  Let's take a look at the question. How do you know we haven't?
